Press Release – Results

Year on year we are proud to report significant improvement in our results for our young people. This year is no exception! The headline figure of 62% of children achieving 5 or more A*-C grades, including Maths and English has surpassed all previous records and is up 11% on last year. The school has secured a 14% increase on the number of children achieving 5 higher grade passes and now stands at a staggering 88%. The number of learners achieving the highest A*/A grades has also increased with a third of the children achieving at least 3 A*/A grades and a quarter achieving 5 or more of the highest grades. We are also proud to report 100% passes in AS level RE and Level 3 (AS) Maths. In addition, our Year 9 and Year 10 learners are also celebrating GCSE results in one or more subjects, exposing them to success at a very early age!

Carmel Foster, Headteacher, congratulates the children and staff on their outstanding performance. She acknowledges that such fantastic results are as a result of hard work, dedication, a can-do culture and a strong home-school partnership. The results are fitting end to an amazing year in the life of Our Lady’s! The school has been awarded the International Gold Award for Investors in People and received affirmation from our Archdiocesan and Ofsted Inspections which deemed the school as “Good” with a plethora of “outstanding” judgements.

It is always difficult to single out individual performances, however, the school wishes to acknowledge achievement of: Angela Davey who achieved 12 A*/A grades and grade A in Level 3 Maths, Rebecca Boardman and Liam Ockleshaw with 11 A*/A grades and Adam George Jones with 10 A*/A grades. In addition, both Shannon Donnelly and Rachel Hendrikse achieved 10 A*/A grades and a ‘B’ grade in AS RE and Stephanie Hewitt and Kellyann Stephen achieved 16 higher grade passes. Well done to everyone and we wish you every success for your college courses.
